I wish I could give them over five stars for customer service. Wow, they really went above and beyond. I ordered my open face lox bagel online with “Toast” (really easy by the way) and when I left a note for them to wrap the 2 halves separately, I also mentioned it was for my mom‘s birthday breakfast. I was bringing her to work. So, they actually decorated the bag as you can see in the photo and left more than one sweet note. They wrote a note on the bag, they wrote a note on the receipt, and they even included an extra donut that I definitely did not pay for— on the house!! I just really love seeing things like this because I’m also the type of person who loves going above and beyond because it just personally brings me joy to do things like this for people. So, to have that attention to detail reciprocated was just so nice and made my bagel delivery to my mom for her birthday all the more special. This was my second time ordering from BCB and both times I tried the lox open face and it did not disappoint. Very tasty good texture and satisfied the craving. Bagel Shop is decent. I like my bagels toasted, and my salt bagel with plain cream cheese barely came out warm probably should’ve asked for extra toasted. The pastrami on sourdough was pretty simple too, could’ve used a little more meat. That said, I did like that they bring the food out to you whether you’re inside or outside, and the pickle on the side was a nice touch.

We came for breakfast with our son’s recommendation to this popular spot while visiting San Diego and it’s clearly a neighborhood favorite. There was a great morning buzz with plenty of locals grabbing breakfast. They have a solid selection of bagels and some really tasty breakfast sandwich options. We tried the jalapeño bagels, the ham and cheese, and the smoked salmon—all of them were fresh and delicious. We sat outside to eat, and the environment was perfect for a relaxed morning. The service was friendly and efficient, too. I love coming down to San Diego and finding these little local treasures. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

I wasn't sure about stopping by because some of the reviews weren't great, but I'm glad I did. My experience was awesome. I was greeted by a really sweet staff member right away, and they even had the WiFi info clearly posted by the register. They also offered a sample of a freshly baked blueberry muffin, which was a nice touch. We ordered a Mexican mocha and a dulce de leche latte-both were delicious. For food, we got the Mexicali on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and the All Star on an onion bagel... and wow. These bagels are HUGE and absolutely packed. The space itself was clean and inviting. The only downside was parking- it was a bit of a challenge since there's not much available nearby. You can park at the VONS parking lot, but I think you have to pay.

I came here to hang out for a few hours while I had car work done at Henry's. I was fortunate to have Helena help me out! She is a kind, delightful, helpful, and oh-so-patient young woman. I changed my mind about 37 times, had about 113 questions, and finally decided on a yummy breakfast with her expert assistance and recommendations. I ordered a Co-Op, whole, substituted vegan cream cheese, and added cucumbers and mixed greens on an onion bagel and a Dulce de Leche over ice. The bagel was huge, served open face, and is plenty for two filling meals. Absolutely delicious. All the ingredients were fresh and perfect and the smoked salmon was fabulous. The drink hit the spot after I added a few drops of my own organic monk fruit. I've been here before but never for an extended period of time. My experience was wonderful. I am grateful for warmth I received. You will do yourself a favor going here. Enjoy! ♡
